What to do after tryouts

Thank you for registering your player for tryouts for the 2019 – 2020 season with the Cobras! We are a competitive club that focuses on player development. We are proud of building character on and off the field. If you are new to the club or it’s difficult to recall what you did last year after your player got an offer, please read the following information.

Your player’s head coach or team manager will email you an offer letter. Once you have this offer letter and would like to accept it you need to do a few things within 48 hours.

1.    You will need to log-into the club site. Use the same email and passcode for your account when you registered to tryout. This time you’ll select ‘register for 2019-2020 season’.

2.    Select the right age group and gender and finally coach who sent you the offer.

3.    Select a uniform size based on the uniform fitting during tryout registration.

4.    Please read and check Code of Conduct.

5.    Make the $125 deposit online towards the club registration of $525 ($475 for U8/9). $200 will need to be paid by the end of October, 2019 and the remaining balance of $200 ($150 for U8/9) will need to be paid by the end of January, 2020.

*Each team sets their own team budget for tournament fees, team equipment, additional indoor field time. The amounts vary for each team and are paid directly to the team treasurer.  Be sure to understand your coaches plan for the team budget.

6.    Failure to commit within 48 hours will result in a follow-up attempt by the head coach or team manager. The roster spot will be passed on to another player after an unsuccessful 2nd attempt to contact original player. Original player will be removed from roster consideration.

FAQ’S ABOUT TRYOUTS

When will my player be notified about an offer or not?

It is up to each coach to reach out to families the week following tryouts. All offers should be out to players by August 7th

What happens if my player can’t make tryouts?

There is an inherent risk in missing a tryout and that needs to be understood by the individuals and parents of those missing the tryouts. However, some coaches may have roster spots open after tryouts and after the mandatory notification window has closed. If your player is evaluated outside of tryouts and is offered a roster spot, you will need to accept within 48 hours and make the $125 deposit. If it is after the due dates for the club registrations (after October 31, 2019), your family will have 30 days after the deposit to pay the remaining balance in order to keep your player’s roster spot. If you are late with payment, there will be a $25 fee and your player may not receive their uniform or player pass to play.

What is the max roster size?

You can reference RDYSL rules for roster sizes, but it is ultimately up to the coach on the number of players to carry on a team.

How many players can play up an age group per team?

Any new team to Cobras must follow the US Soccer age matrix. Teams that were a part of the club for the 2018 – 2019 season were allowed to keep their team together regardless of age. As a rule of thumb for these teams and any new teams; there can be no more than 2 players playing 1 year up on a team.

What is the 2019/2020 Season Age Matrix?

·         U08 - players born in 2012

·         U09 - players born in 2011

·         U10 - players born in 2010

·         U11 - players born in 2009

·         U12 - players born in 2008

·         U13 - players born in 2007

·         U14 - players born in 2006

·         U15 - players born in 2005

·         U16 - players born in 2004

·         U17 - players born in 2003

·         U19 - players born in 2002 or 2001

Why is there a required deposit within 48 hours?

It helps confirm actual rosters which affect everything: uniform needs, indoor space needed, registration and insurance costs, etc.

Can I pay my club registration fee in installments?

Yes! $125 deposit is due with the acceptance of player’s offer to their team. This is paid online via credit card on the club site. $200 needs to be paid by the end of October, 2019 or a $25 late fee will be applied to your account. The remaining balance of $200 ($150 for U8/9) (plus any accrued late fee) must be paid by the end of January, 2020 or an additional late fee of $25 will be applied. Failure to pay your club registration fee in its entirety by January 31st will result in your player being unable to participate in indoor sessions or receive their uniform.

Is there financial assistance available?

There are limited number of one time scholarships available through the club. Please see your coach or team manager to complete the request. All families applying for financial assistance will need to still pay the $125 deposit. The balance not completely covered by financial aide will still need to be paid by the end of January, 2020.
